Welcome Back!

Sew happy you have come to visit! Today is my turn to show my Tammy Bags. Only finished two, although I have 3 handles and fabric for my third....
My first Tammy bag is my makeup bag for on my bathroom counter. The outer pockets keep everything I use every day ready and easily accessible. Then if we are traveling, just pop it all inside. With a few extras that aren't used as often in the inner pockets, I'm ready to go in no time! The inside is made from some fabric sold at Joanns in their baby department. They call it PLC and it's primarily used for bibs and diaper covers because it's water resistant and wipes clean. This made a lot of sense for my makeup bag that has many opportunities to need to be wiped clean. It's very easy to sew and I've used this type of fabric to make several bibs for my  three nephews babies.

My second bag is my sewing project bag. It normally sits next to my machine, with many sewing accessories like scissors, pinking shears, rulers, pencil, stilleto, etc. I've also attached my antique needle case to the handle with some ribbon. I love to keep my embroidery needles in this little needle case. The inside is filled with my pretty Prescenia embroidery thread, needle threaders, extra pins, and a small embroidery project. There is plenty of room for more!

  17. What a great idea to use the PLC fabric for a makeup bag. I just may have to try that for my daughter. She is so difficult for which to buy/make things. That just might be the ticket! I like how you sewed the right size pocket for each item of makeup. That sure helps keep things in place and standing up. I adore the colors that you used for your sewing bag. It is cheery. Sometimes I need something cheery in my sewing room. When I run into a snag on a project, I find it helps to have some cheery things. You are very clever. Thanks for participating.

  20. oooh I don't know which is cuter! As much as I like black, white and red in combo that hot pink makeup bag is really cool too. Like Suze above, I like how you subdivided the outer pockets further to suit your needs. Not only can you stuff the outside but you can pack things in the inside as well.

    Well done!

  33. I love your antique needle case. The Tammys are wonderful and I think using a laminate is perfect for makeup. I noticed you'd divided one of the outside pockets into smaller units to hold your tubes; super idea. I know you'll enjoy these bags forever.
